Litigation Associate Required Urgently
The senior partner and head of dispute resolution at a major law firm on Chancery Lane had recently lost their assistant solicitor. The partner was extremely busy and had a large and very unique commercial dispute that he needed help to manage.
Mandaus provided him with a shortlist of 12 qualified candidates. We recommended one in particular, an ex Clifford Chance solicitor on £92k. After interviewing 8 of the candidates, our client picked our original recommendation.
Licensing Assistant Recruited
At the end of last year we were approached by the head of arguably the number one licensing law team in London, whose client roster includes the famous Chinawhite nightclub. The client needed an assistant solicitor with 2-4 years PQE in licensing law.
The client was pessimistic about finding an experienced solicitor in such a specialised field. After conducting our searches Mandaus managed to track down a licensing solicitor with 3 years PQE. The candidate was given two interviews in a single day and started 10 days later.

Spotting the value in unique solicitors

Mandaus are able to spot the commercial potential in some candidates who might be passed over by other recruiters.
We were contacted by a planning solicitor who’d worked in-house for air traffic services. Despite his unusual niche we are able to place him in a planning law position with a commercial firm on Chancery Lane.
Another candidate had never trained as a solicitor but had a reputation for winning major disputes against HMRC. In 2008 we placed him in as a tax lawyer at a big law firm in the West End where he still works.
A candidate who was involved in the highly politicised trial of the Prime Minister in Malaysia had to relocate to London. We helped her land a role with a leading IP Lifescience firm in London where she thrived.
